Algonav

AlgoNav is a specialist for kinematic high-precision positioning based on the fusion of raw GNSS observations and other sensors, as IMU, odometers, cameras, and laser scanners. The company was established in Darmstadt in May 2024. AlgoNav Rail is the worldwide first cloud-based SaaS for the positioning of rail vehicles, as used for rail infrastructure mapping and regular monitoring tasks. The core positioning engine employs innovative sensor fusion techniques, striving for an unprecedented accuracy and robustness also in very difficult GNSS environments. The project is carried out in cooperation with DB InfraGo AG. The algorithms and cloud platform to be developed will lay out a basis for AlgoNav’s future expansion into other market segments. The platform will allow a very high degree of automation, addressing B2B-customers with large amounts of data, from industries such as rail/urban/industrial infrastructure mapping and monitoring, and geophysical surveying. AlgoNav’s proprietary algorithms have a strong emphasis on raw multi-frequency multi-constellation GNSS processing, both for stand-alone (PPP) and differential approaches. Particular characteristics of Galileo will be addressed and exploited, targeting positioning robustness and accuracy. A tight integration with laser scanner data will further support the GNSS error detection and mitigation.
